On the whole, looking out of our window in drizzly Devon this morning, I would rather be in Kefalonia and obviously at The Walnut Tree villa. Still it won’t be long; we return on the 26th of March for a leisurely late spring and preparations for the 2018 letting season.
On that note, we are delighted with lettings this year with only the last week in June and the last two weeks of August/first weeks of September still available.
No big ‘refurb’ plans for inside the Walnut Tree villa this year. However, we have started renovating the pool terrace by adding a step (as illustrated below). There is quite a bit more to do when we return but with the help of Aldino, tiler extraordinaire, who always finds solutions to the problems of maintaining ‘tidy’ tiling around Sami, we will have completed the new tiling on the far side of the pool with natural stone by time our first guests arrive at the end of May. We think the natural stone looks good and with the added advantage of being safer too.
We have already put a blog on the website celebrating our 2017 olive oil harvest – but worth while to say that the resulting total of 80 litres (whoopee!) will be part of the complimentary welcome pack offered to all our guests on their arrival at the villa.
Rees and Celia and the team wish all our past and future guests a wonderful new year – and the best of holidays wherever you may be … but obviously, if they are going to be at The Walnut Tree villa, we hope it will be a holiday to remember with pleasure for many years to come.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
